The IRS Form 990 is also known as the tax exempt form, is submitted by tax-exempt organizations and non-profit organizations to provide the IRS their annual financial information.
This tax exempt form/IRS Form 990 also provides the public the financial information of those tax-exempt organizations and non-profit organizations and is often the only source of such information.
There are some variants of the IRS form 990. A short version of it is IRS Form 990-EZ, may be used by organizations with gross receipts of less than $100,000 and total assets of less than $250,000. Another variant is IRS Form 990-PF, which is available for private foundation organizations.
